ABOVE: digging a hole to India!

It's finally time for me to head off on my Indian adventure! It's still kind of hard to believe that it's happening. In 24hrs I will be up in the air, en route to Delhi where I'll spend the next 8 months as a creative fellow. Most of you know how amazing this opportunity was when it first came my way. I have always told myself that I should live and work in India (independently of my family) and ideally work on some social cause, and bonus- learn hindi. Well, on the eve of my big departure my anticipation could not be greater, because I will be doing all of these things in the coming months. Mostly, I'm excited, but there is a part of me that is freaking out, because I will be accomplishing a life goal. While I have been to India many times, I am sure that I will go through some sort of culture shock. I can not wait to start this adventure. When I arrive in India, my aunt will pick me up. After a day of recouping, I will go to my new shared apartment where a few fellows will already be. Exciting! Everyone asks me if I'm nervous about this experience and I'll be honest, if I'm nervous about anything, it's the crazy heat I'm moving into!
