ABOVE: an evening of bubble blowing at the India Gate
It has been a while since I've written, so I hope you're ready for some blog overload! Three weeks ago I happily welcomed my first visitor to India, my college friend, Michael. He came just I was approaching my halfway point in India, just before my birthday, and just after my two new flatmates moved in. I was excited for lots of activity! While Michael visited for two weeks, I could only take off a week for traveling outside of Delhi. It worked out well. I gave him ideas on what to do in Delhi and we would meet up in the evenings. His visit was really refreshing, it allowed me to take on the role of hostess (which I love doing). Having more company in the house also prompted me to venture out in the evening and visit places that were on my to-do list. One such place was
India Gate.
Located more centrally in Delhi, India Gate is a really nice spot to visit in the evening. There are large walking paths in front of the gate as well as lawn areas for sitting and relaxing. At this point in Delhi, our days were still in the upper 80s and 90s, so a breezy evening at India Gate was just perfect! And to add to the contentment of the evening, we spent the night blowing bubbles and eating mango ice cream in front of the gate.
