WELCOME WFI!
ABOVE: my co-worker Itika presenting WASH for India
As I've written earlier, a lot of exciting things have been happening at the office and until now I couldn't actually write about it all. I mentioned that we were going through a rebranding and many of you were probably wondering what that even meant for the organization. Well, in the beginning of July our boss informed us that we were going to branch off slightly from WASH United and start our own WASH innovation start up called WASH for India. In doing this, we would continue to work with WASH United and work as a consultancy to them, along with many other organizations. This is exciting because now we can broaden our network and the types of organizations we partner with as well as the projects we facilitate! So from July till now, we've been working on the branding and philosophy of our organization. It has been really fun for me because I have been given a front seat at creating all of the visual identity and marketing collateral for the start up. Basically, the latter portion of July was spent working with our awesome developer on designing our new website! You can have a look at the site here: washforindia.org
The day I arrived in Bangalore, we had our Bangalore launch! We hosted the event in a really cool co-working space called Jaaga (in kannada this means 'space') At the event, my co-worker gave a presentation on what we do and how others could get involved. We had time to mingle, we played games, and we had some yummy treats. I met a variety of people working in a range of areas (not all relating to WASH- water, sanitation, hygiene) All in all it was a fun day!
