EXPLORING ART IN THE CITY
OK, so the photo above is not from the actual art portion of my day out but it was definitely my favorite part of the day. The other day we had a 'field trip' and explored art in India. This ranged from visiting clothing stores, to actual museums. It was an all-round fun day with lots of picture taking. The day was filled with lots of art and lots of walking (something I hadn't done too much of yet). We started at Connaught Place and ended up at the Museum of Art. And with all of the walking we did, by the time we got to the Museum of Art we were exhausted!
In between all of this we managed to grab a delicious lunch at Andhra Bhavan (which serves traditional food from the state of Andhra Pradesh- south indian, yes!) Everything about my lunch experience delighted me. For 100rs ($2) we got a thali (basically an all you can eat plated meal). This included an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The actual restaurant is crazy and busy, as you can see in the photo above. We walked in and were a bit disoriented at first in the mass of people. If you look at the photo above, on the left, there's a man in yellow, he assigns the tables for everyone. Upon first arrival, you may think that you're at an auction, because he is constantly shouting out ticket numbers and dishes. Meanwhile, all of the people who are standing wait eagerly for their ticket number to be called. As soon as a table is finished, there are people to clean and reset the table in minutes, MINUTES! It was a crazy meal, and the kind of crazy i just love. Most definitely, this was the highlight of my day!
