I SAY, LET THERE BE RAIN!
ABOVE: splashing through puddles in Hauz Khas Village
I have to apologize for not writing for an entire week. Let me say though, that if this should happen again, it's just an indicator that i'm having lots of fun :) Between my sketchbook, blog, e-mails, diary, work, and freelance... I stay quite busy!
Much to my disappointment we have not officially gotten 'the rains' here. It's still nice and toasty in the 100s most days, with occasional brief rains. I was very excited last week when the rains came in as I wandered through the neighborhood of Hauz Khas Village with some visiting classmates (from the states!) Watching the rains pour in over the lake and fort was just beautiful. Many people took cover, while there were some running through the grass, splashing through puddles, and (literally) soaking it up! After taking shelter for some time, my friends and I ventured into the village. We started with a bite at a restaurant called Amici, which supposedly has some of the best pizza in Delhi. We then moved out into the rain and hopped through the many boutiques the village has. I ended up purchasing a cute notebook from the design shop Letternote. After some more window shopping, I parted ways with my friends. I returned home soaked and content! I'm looking forward to the real rains, whenever it is that they come...
